2. Spring Festival (Saturday, November 20th)


The first official event of the delegation was to attend the opening of the Spring Festival.


Just walking out of a gate of the Anchorage.

The Spring Festival was newly held 
at the Anniversary Park this year.

A girl welcomed the delegation from Ako in Japanese and sang "Advance Australia Fair".

Takashi Nagasaki, Deputy Mayor of Ako City, 
tried to give a speech in English and
 was successful to have the audience laugh three times.

A fashion show was being held on the same stage after the official opening.

during the World War II.

We visited the Rockingham Visitor Centre in late afternoon to attend the opening ceremony for a "Japanese themed garden".

People from Ako and Rockingham jointly celebrated the opening of the renewed garden.

"What's that ?", "A bird !", "An airplane !", 
"No, it's Superman !"

Meanwhile, the Festival was still continuing.
